West Islip, NY - Jeanne K. Dzurenko, BSN, MPH, RN, was recently appointed Senior Vice President of Patient Care and Chief Nursing Officer for Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center. Dzurenko has more than 25 years experience in nursing and healthcare operations. In her new role, she is responsible for the administrative and organizational plan for nursing care and patient outcomes. She brings extensive experience as a senior nurse executive and expertise in hospital systems that support patient care.
Most recently, Dzurenko served as the Senior Director of Nursing Operations, Patient Care Systems at NYU Langone Medical Center. In that role, she managed both nursing and non-nursing services, collaborated with other departments to complete large hospital-wide projects such as upgrades to the electronic medical record, software installations, value analysis facilitation and integration of patient care equipment.
Prior to that, she was the Director of Nursing at the Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine at NYU Langone and Director of Psychiatry, Epilepsy and Radiology Services for Tisch Hospital at NYU Langone. In addition, she has held positions at the New York City Health and Hospital Corporation and NYC Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
She has been an adjunct faculty member at New York University College of Nursing and received the Nursing Administration Preceptor Award. She has presented lectures at several national professional organizations including the Magnet Nursing Conference and has published several articles in professional journals and health care textbooks. She currently is a content reviewer for Nursing Economic Journal.
Dzurenko received her bachelor’s degree from Niagara University, a master’s degree in public health from City University of New York Hunter College and a post-graduate certificate in bioethics and humanities from New York University. She resides in New York City.
