To me this is just a way to get from one place to another, but for some reason my kids think it's the coolest thing since sliced bread. It's really fun traveling with them on the ferry because they think it's so amazing. Maybe it's because we used to live in the Midwest, where there wasn't really much in the way of water or boats. It's not the quickest way to get from point A to B, but it's probably the most interesting way. The only drawback is that you need to check the weather before you decide to go out. Not their fault; they gotta play it safe. It's also not the best option if you are doing an extended stay and need to bring along more than a couple of bags since they have luggage restrictions. The Fire Island Ferries, are a fun way to get to Fire Island for a fun day out in the sun with family and friends. The only downside is if the weather is bad they won't run, so you have to make sure to check the weather report prior to planning your trip. Share Your Review
