Cynthia Marie Friday, January 4, 2013

There is nothing like a good ballet to give you that big culture push and show you the beauty of discipline and art. Many young girls dream of being a prima ballerina only to go different routes after they no longer have pink rooms and princess pillows. Ballet is a beautiful form of dance that has deep traditions and a rich history. Peconic Landing Community Center will be hosting the Ballet in Cinema series featuring the world’s most famous ballet companies captured live in high-definition digital projection. Five ballets will be presented January through May in the Peconic Landing Community Centerat 1500 Brecknock Road, Greenport.

Among the different ballets that will be Sleeping Beauty. This amazing event will be performed by The Royal Ballet of London Sunday, Jan. 13, at 3 p.m. After that will be An Evening with Sol León and Paul Lightfoot which features Netherlands Dans Theater in-house choreographers Sol León and Paul Lightfoot Sunday, Feb. 3, at 3 p.m.
