Our Lady of Consolation Nursing & Rehabilitative Care Center Hosts 7th Annual Pot of Gold

West Islip, NY  – On March 24, 2013, Our Lady of Consolation hosted their 7th Annual Pot of Gold Raffle Drawing & Dinner.  This was a fundraising event created in the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day.  Guests received a traditional Irish dinner and were entertained with Irish step dancing by the Mise Eire Dance Team from the Ancient Order of Hibernians inBabylon. Raffle tickets were sold for $50 each with a grand prize of $10,000.

Special guest Rev. Msgr. James Vlaun, President & CEO of Telecare, Rev. Frank Nelson also of Telecare along with John Dominici, Executive Chef for Our Lady of Consolation, also entertained guests with a cooking demonstration.  

This event was a great success due to the generosity of the staff, family members and the community. Our Lady of Consolation is a 450-bed nursing and rehabilitative care center conducted in the tradition of the Sisters of St. Dominic since 1894 and is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO). As a member of Catholic Health Services of Long Island, Our Lady of Consolation plays an integral role in the health care delivery system of the Diocese of Rockville Centre and offers expertise in the field of long-term care and sub-acute care. In addition to skilled nursing home care including geriatric care, rehabilitative care, respiratory therapy and medically complex care, Our Lady of Consolation offers specialized dementia disease care for individuals with Alzheimer’s and related dementia diseases. In addition, Our Lady of Consolation’s Long Term Home Health Care Program provides nursing care and other services for patients residing in their own homes in the community.
