New Low Calorie Menu Helps Applebee's Live up to their 'See You Tomorrow' Slogan

James Williams Thursday, January 3, 2013

One of the most frequented restaurants and grills in Long Island is Applebee's. People love the laid back atmosphere with a little bit of history and sports thrown in. I have to admit that the food is pretty good, and if I'm looking for a quick, low-cost steak, Applebee's just might be on my list.

But, they may have just added another element to their "likeability" as far as living up to their slogan of  “See You Tomorrow”, which welcomes guests back daily. However, according to Marc Prince, Director of Operations for the Long Island restaurant chain, this is more than just a clever catchphrase–it’s a mission statement. The company has been working hard to provide fresh options and exciting new reasons for guests to come back daily. One area, in particular, that the restaurant chain is intent on enhancing is in the creation of fresh new entrees trimmed to under 550 calories.

Yes, that is entrees that consist of only 550 calories. One such meal, that is quite tasty is, Applebee’s new Napa Chicken and Portobellos. This great tasting meal tops a grilled chicken breast with savory Portobello mushrooms and onions smothered in a rich red wine sauce and Parmesan cheese. It’s served over sautéed zucchini, mushrooms, roasted red peppers, red onions and crispy red potatoes. The caloric total for this meal is only 450—and the cost is under $10.

This, and several other menu items that help you keep that New Year's Resolution of losing weight are going to give you that motivation to continue coming back.
