Moscow 57 Pops Up & Kicks Off The Summer

John Mitty Thursday, June 13, 2013

Moscow 57 Pop-Up Urban Salon at Holiday House Hamptons 2013 is an evening of entertainment in a quintessential summer setting - a beautiful home in Bridgehampton.  Moscow 57 Pop Up Urban Salonlends an edgy elegance to Holiday House Hamptons 2013, a holiday-themed Designer Show House benefiting The Breast Cancer Research Foundation (founded by Evelyn Lauder in 1993 to support breast cancer awareness and research).

This summer, Holiday House Hamptons will be presented by Hamptons Cottages and Gardens, as it makes its first appearance in the Hamptons in a luxury home developed by Villadom Corp, located at 4 Fair Hills Lane, Bridgehampton, New York.

Enjoy the quintessential Hampton's experience and join together with breast cancer survivors and advocates who are creating a fabulous holiday-themed Designer Show House raising funds to support the fight against breast cancer.

Every autumn over the past five years Holiday House NYC, a holiday-themed Designer Show House benefiting The Breast Cancer Research Foundation (founded by Evelyn Lauder in 1993 to support breast cancer awareness and research) has taken place in a historic limestone mansion at 2 East 63rd Street in Manhattan.

Moscow 57 and Holiday House have been in an evolving relationship that started when they set up the Moscow 57 Café at Holiday House NYC in 2011 and 2012. It all began with passion and a shared vision. Iris Dankner, founder of the Designer Show House Holiday House, was in the thick of creating Holiday House NYC 2011 when she realized that a cafe would be the perfect addition.  The Moscow 57 team was introduced and virtually overnight, Ellen Kaye and partner, Seth Goldman, created Moscow 57 Cafe.  "Raising awareness and funds for the fight against breast cancer makes it easy to get things done," said Kaye.

Last fall at Holiday House NYC 2012, the Moscow 57 Urban Salon entertained for a number of evenings with various performers and visual artists. This season Ellen Kaye will be performing and hosting with guest artists including improvizational jazz vocalist Cleve Douglass, vocalist Cici James and saxophonist Samuel Bronowski.

Over the past few years, Ellen Kaye has been appearing regularly at noted jazz clubs such as The Iridium Jazz Cluband The Metropolitan Room. Ellen was invited to sing at the Metro New York chapter of UN Women Luncheon in the Delegates' Dining Room at the United Nations in March 2012.

Drawing her material from the best songwriters of the 20th- and 21st-centuries, Ellen makes the classics contemporary while indulging her Tom Waits addiction, reveling in someDar Williams and Rickie Lee Jones, luxuriating in Annie Lennox, commiserating with Randy Newman's worldview, and getting lost in the Blues. She isn't opposed to classic American Songbook either, and, as always, she gives it a unique Kaye spin.http://moscow57.com/ekMusic.html

The Visual Arts, with Leah McCloskey curating and exhibiting, will be presented digitally, representing many different mediums and philosophies from charcoal sketches to abstract paintings and photography.  Dan Root will be theFeatured Artist.; other artists will include Anne Delaney, Philippe Bocquet, Evgenia Fisher, Rina Root, Yuka Imata and Leslie Thresher. http://moscow57.com/visual.html
