New Memoir by Octogenarian Long Island Resident Dom “The Mushroom Man” Recounts Life-long Passion for Wild Edibles

Dom, “the Mushroom Man,” was born in 1930s Brooklyn into a busy Italian family, at a time when foraging for food was a necessity for survival. He has spent the last half century foraging, identifying and recording his mushroom finds – from the more common to the most unsuspected specimens – while living on Long Island where his boyhood curiousity with nature and mushrooms became a life-long obsession.
