Guaranteed Giggles at Mr. Mouse Vacation Week Puppet Shows in St. James-Dec. 28 & Feb 22

The Smithtown Township Arts Council is pleased to announce two vacation week performances of Mr. Mouse puppet shows featuring Katie’s Puppets. All tickets $8.00. Reserve in advance. Performances are at the Mills Pond House, 660 Route 25A, St. James NY and are geared especially for young children grades pre-K to 3^rd grade. Children will make puppets after the performance. Mr. Mouse and the Librarian is scheduled Friday, December 28 at 11 am, 1 pm and 3 pm. Join Mr. Mouse in his Adventures with Reading! Mr. Mouse is inspired to make scarves, a go-cart and a movie on his trip to the library to find the cheese book!

Mr. Mouse in Outer Space is scheduled Friday, February 22 at 11 am and 1 pm. A book inspires Mr. Mouse to build a rocket ship. Join in the excitement as Mr. Mouse accidentally explores the galaxy while on his way to the moon!

Long Island puppeteer Katie Polk believes her puppet art helps people develop their own creativity. She builds all her own puppets, using items she finds on beaches, in thrift stores and anywhere else that may be home to clothespins, buttons, empty thread spools, odd material and the like. Just about any item around may give life to one of Katie’s puppets. Combining sounds, textures, colors and rhythms, Katie uses her inventive imagination to bring her puppet characters to life. She likes to incorporate “fun, silliness, imagination and a sense of wonder” into her puppets so anyone, at any age will enjoy them!”
