How many women out there were heartbroken when Mike Piazza retired from the New York Mets? I know that as a long time baseball fan, I loved going to the Shea just to see Piazza warming up and then playing. But, then his career came to an abrupt halt - I thought he still had a few more years in him. However, if you have been wanting to see Mr. Piazza in person you can now have a chance at an appearance the former Met is making to sign his new book, "Long Shot".
During the event, which is being held on Thursday, February 14th, starting at 9 AM, Piazza will be signing copies of his book as well as handing out wrist bands. The signing is at the Barnes & Noble in Carle Place at 91 Old Country Road.
I was shocked to find out that Piazza did not make it into the Hall of Fame this year, his first year of eligibility, but am hoping that his book, "Long Shot" will settle the air about allegedly taking PEDs while playing. As one of the most loved Mets, it would be great for Pizza, as well as New York, for him to enter the HOF within the next few years.
