Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer
Melville, NY - Catholic Home Care, named Gail Silver, MS, APRN, GNP, BC Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. With more than 25 years in the field, Silver possesses a broad range of experience from senior executive and nurse practitioner to health professional. Silver has practiced in diverse environments, including home care operations, medical management, quality management, government programs, and network recruitment and contracting. Recently, in her role at Visiting Nurse Service of New York, she successfully implemented operational restructuring of home care programs to improve compliance, identify best practices, and generate cost savings.
Her clinical specialties include adult and geriatric populations. She is the winner of the 2009 Nursing Spectrum “Award of Excellence” in the Management category and the winner of the 2010 New York Times “Tribute to Nurses” in Leadership category for New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania.
“As we create a more cohesive operation with CHS’s four home care business units and implement a new care delivery model based on quality and value, Ms. Silver’s diverse background in home care and managed care will be critical,” said Joseph Tomaino, President and CEO of Catholic Home Care.

Silver received her MS/Nurse Practioner from SUNY Stony Brook and, most recently, her certification- in leading organizational change from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. She resides in Westbury, Long Island.
