Bethpage, NY – November 7, 2012 – In the wake of Hurricane Sandy, Bethpage Federal Credit Union is working closely with the United Way of Long Island and the American Red Cross Long Island to Support victims of Hurricane Sandy.  Bethpage has set up the Bethpage Disaster Relief Fund with the United Way of Long Island to help support Long Island communities in need. Bethpage will match every donation up to a total of $50,000.  To donate, visit any Bethpage branch with cash or a check, payable to the United Way of Long Island.  Checks can also be mailed to Bethpage Federal Credit Union, c/o Community Development at 899 South Oyster Bay Road, Bethpage, NY 11714.

Bethpage has also made a substantial $25,000 donation to the American Red Cross Relief Operation for Hurricane Sandy, which grows by the day, as the American Red Cross continues to provide meals, water, supplies and comfort to those in need following the hurricane.

“We at Bethpage send our thoughts and prayers out to everyone affected by Hurricane Sandy, and pledge our commitment to do everything we can to help our community get through this difficult time,” said Kirk Kordelski, President & CEO, Bethpage Federal Credit Union.  “We encourage those lucky enough to make it through without significant loss to join in to support your neighbors.  By donating to the Bethpage Disaster Relief Fund, your financial contribution

will be matched by Bethpage and distributed by the United Way of Long Island to provide strong, local support to our friends and families in need.”

“The United Way of Long Island is proud to once again partner with Bethpage Federal Credit Union to support Long Island during this time of crisis,” said Theresa Regnate, President & CEO, United Way of Long Island.  “By matching 100 percent of the donations, every dollar contributed will have a more significant impact and allow us to help even more families in need.  We thank Bethpage for their support, and hope this sets a model for additional businesses and organizations to pledge support moving forward.”
