Two of FNA’s associate team members got into the spirit of the season over the holidays by volunteering to help those in need of assistance. Brian Bodner, Director of Ancillary operations, has been involved with the Rockland Catholic Community Services for many years. Brian, together with his family, organized a toy and clothing drive to help those in his community. Rockland Catholic Charities Community Services of Rockland (CCSR) is an affiliate of The Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York a not-for-profit social service agency established in 1996 by the eighteen Catholic parishes of Rockland County. CCSR has a long-standing history of providing the basic necessities of life, such as food, shelter and other emergency assistance for those in need.
Bijal Gosalia, Technical Writer for FNA, continued with her annual tradition to help out on Thanksgiving to serve food to those in need at the INN (Interfaith Nutrition Network) in Hempstead NY. The INN was founded in 1983 as a single soup kitchen run by a small group of concerned volunteers. As word spread of the success of the Hempstead soup kitchen, The INN became a magnet for individuals who wanted to help those who were hungry in their own communities. While volunteering, Bijal learned of a future need for Christmas toys for some of the families and decided to start a toy drive as well. Team FNA stepped up and contributed to both organizations, helping both Brian and Bijal’s charities over the past holiday season.
