September 7: Self Actualization = JOY
Arts Talk & Book Signing Event
With Acclaimed Author Dan Rattiner & Professional Artist Steve Alpert
(RIVERHEAD, NY, August 16, 2012) –– East End Arts is pleased to announce September’s installment of the First Fridays Arts-in-Community Series to be held on Friday, September 7 starting at 6 PM at the East End Arts Carriage House, located behind the East End Arts Gallery at 133 East Main Street, Riverhead NY. This month’s arts talk will feature acclaimed author Dan Rattiner, American journalist and founder of Dan’s Papers, and artist Steve Alpert, professional painter, theatrical producer, and author, in a discussion of transforming life, as well as life-changing experiences, through art. Steve Alpert quotes “The relentless and passionate pursuit of art making has opened up the doors to serenity and service, the combination of which has taken me to an extraordinary place in my life, a place I never thought was even possible.” Rattiner and Alpert share a former background in advertising and will retell their experiences in the arts and media through this conversation. In addition, Dan Rattiner will share selections from his new memoir, Still in the Hamptons and Steve Alpert will share experiences from his recent memoir, Worth Fighting For. The talk will be followed by a reception and book signing in the East End Arts Gallery. This FREE event is open to the public.
Steve Alpert, a native New Yorker, has been painting for forty years turning pro thirteen years ago after a successful career as a TV producer/director. Alpert's work is sold in fine art galleries all over North America.
