We had a house burn down a few years ago, and needless to say, I have a fear of fire now. When we purchased the new house, I wasn't all that happy about it having a fireplace at all, but my husband really wanted one. We use it, and I'm trying to get over my fear, but it's been a struggle. Anyway, one thing we've been doing to alleviate my fears is have someone come in and give it a professional safety inspection once a year. The best contractor we've used so far is Unmatched Fireplace Service.
