I found this place quite by accident, and was pretty amazed when I found out the whole story about the bison farm and everything. Never tried a bison burger until I had my first one here, and it was so good I'm drooling just thinking about it. I am totally going to check out the farm tours! This place is owned by the guy who owns the North Quarter Farm—you know, the buffalo farm in Riverhead. We went there to check out the bison, because we’d never seen them before, and it seemed like a cool thing to do on a nice afternoon. It was really fun and informative! We then came to Tweed’s to grab a bite. The bison burger I had was amazing. First time I ever tried bison meat. It was juicy and much tastier than any standard burger I’d ever had. It was a little weird eating bison after looking at them at the farm, but this guy does this because he cares about one of our country’s endangered species, and the restaurant helps support his herd. Tweeds Restaurant and Buffalo Bar is located in Riverhead, which is practically my neighborhood. I hang out there because of the great food and the generous dishes that it gets you. There is american food served at the place, with juicy burgers and fries, hot dogs and chicken at the grill, beef and entrees of all sorts, the famous steak and some really nice salads that make a great combo with the different kinds of juicy meat. There are beers that blend in perfectly and can make your meal perfect. You should get to the Tweeds Restaurant and Buffalo Bar next time you are at Riverhead. It is worth trying a bite!
