Cesspool Companies who operate in Suffolk County are required by law to have a license issued by the Suffolk County Office of Consumer Affairs as well as be insured and bonded. To receive a license cesspool contractors must demonstrate their knowledge of the industry. The license requirment was put into place for consumer protection. All Pumping contractors must obtain a license from the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation.

Pumping Recommendations for Suffolk Residents is to pump residential septic systems every two to three years.
