Legislator D'Amaro Informs Residents of South Huntington Library Hosting Upcoming Job Fair

Huntington Station - May 5, 2014 - The job market remains competitive and many people are still seeking employment during this challenging time. Accordingly, Suffolk County Legislator Lou D’Amaro (D-Huntington Station) wants to remind community members that, under the auspices of the Suffolk County Workforce Investment Board, the County offers a variety of programs to assist residents in their job searches through the One-Stop Employment Center. Among the services available are the County’s award-winning Job Fairs, with the next one scheduled for this Wednesday, May 7, 10 am – 1 pm at the South Huntington Public Library, 145 Pigeon Hill Road in Huntington Station.
“The Suffolk County Job Fairs offer a unique opportunity for prospective employees and employers to meet and exchange information in a comfortable yet professional atmosphere,” said Legislator D’Amaro.
Employers will discuss part time and full time positions and job seekers are asked to bring their resumes and “dress for success.” Companies scheduled to attend this week’s Job Fair include 511NY Rideshare, A Gentle Touch Senior Home Care, Aflac, Allen Health Care Services, Community Care Home Health, Developmental Disabilities Institute, Express Employment Professionals, GoodTemps, Guardian, Gurwin, Hyatt Regency, Jennifer Furniture, Macy’s, National Recruiting Group, New York Life Insurance Company, Premier Home Health Care, RBA of LI, SCPD, Slomins, Strathmore’s Who’s Who, St. Joseph’s College, Suffolk Community College, Tri-County Home Services, UCP of Suffolk, United Healthcare, Urban League Mature Workers Program, U.S. Army and Utopia Home.
