Help the Needy This Holiday Season on Long Island

There are many struggling families this December who cannot afford gifts or food to celebrate the holiday season, but thankfully, Long Islanders are a generous bunch. If you would like to help out, you can participate in any number of donation drives this year.
- Homes By Mara Realty in Syosset is hosting a coat drive. Their collection box is located in their office, Suite205 at Jericho Turnpike.
- The John Theissen Children’s Foundation is hosting a toy drive. They are located at 1881 Wantagh Avenue, and are only accepting new, unwrapped toys.
- Toys for Tots. This toy drive will be held on Monday from 6:30 to 8:00 pm at Fox Hollow Country Club at 7725 Jericho Turnpike in Woodbury.
- LaMantia Gallery. This holiday party food drive will take place between 2 and 6 pm on Saturday at 127 Main Streetin Northport.
- Mazarin holiday concert and canned food drive. This event will take place in Patchogue at 89 North Music Venue.
- Lily Flanagan’s. If you would like to help needy families with pets, you can contribute to this pet food drive at 528 Main Street in Islip. The “Holiday Pawty and Pet Food Drive Benefit” ticket proceeds and canned food donations will help to feed pets this holiday season on Long Island.
