ClearVision Rallies to Send Local Children Back to School with Much Needed Supplies

Ralph C Tuesday, September 29, 2015

Hauppauge, NY - September 29th, 2015 - As part of its ongoing efforts to support the local community, eyewear industry leader ClearVision Optical recently donated nearly 4,400 items in support of United Way of Long Island’s 2015 Stuff-A-Bus program. This annual program provides low income families with new school supplies to help prepare children for their academic studies.

For the past several years, ClearVision employees and several business partners rallied to support the program, surpassing the company’s 2014 donation by nearly 1000 items. ClearVision also received monetary donations for the drive, which they generously matched. This allowed for the purchase of several hundred backpacks and lunch totes, as well as other more costly, in demand items, for the program.

“The donations that were received from program supporters like ClearVision Optical will have a tremendous impact on the students who receive school supplies from this year’s Stuff-A-Bus program,” says Theresa Regnante, President and CEO of United Way of Long Island.

This year, the Stuff-A-Bus program provided a record breaking 75,000+ supplies to seven local schools, benefiting over 4,000 children.

“Making a meaningful, positive impact by giving back is woven into our culture, and the spirit of competition fuels our employees to make each day better for someone else, especially those in our community,” says Jennifer Trakhtenberg, ClearVision’s Senior Talent Leader.   “The Stuff-A-Bus program impacts our community, which includes members of our CVO family, which is another reason we feel compelled to get involved each year. Also, we’re fortunate to have built powerful relationships with some of our business partners and local networking organizations, through which we were able to make an even greater impact on this compelling cause. We truly believe that by working together, any goal is achievable.”

ClearVision prides itself in not only giving back to the community, but also in its effort to create fun and engaging ways for its employees to get involved in such philanthropic efforts. The company has been honored by many organizations including Big Brothers and Sisters of Suffolk County, Long Island Cares, Suffolk County Advisory Board on Child Protection, and Optometry Giving Sight for making the community, organization and world a better place.
